Several of the Object types can make reference to the Geologic Age supporting information: Archeology, Geology, and Nature. I've populated the Geologic Ages for you already, but you are free to add, modify, or delete my entries as you see fit. This table is used as a look-up by the Object details, but unlike some of the other look-ups, the Geologic Age fields are not required. As a matter of fact, you can ignore this table completely and type in your own entries in the Object details - the look-up is a convenience for you, but the entries you make do not have to match the values in this table.

 

 

 

Filling in the entries in the Geologic Age set of tables is easy, but the interface can appear to be complicated at first glance. When you select an Eon, the other tables change their displays to match the values belonging to that Eon. For example, if you highlight the Phanerozoic eon, the Era table displays only those eras belonging to the selected eon. Similarly, if you highlight the Phanerozoic eon and the Cenozoic era, the Period table display only those periods that belong to what you have selected.

 

 

 

The easiest way to see how this works is to enter a new Eon. Call it Fake. With the Fake eon highlighted, the other tables are empty - there are no eras that belong to the Fake eon, and so on. Now enter a couple of eras while the Fake eon is highlighted. You can now enter a period for each era, but they will only be visible while their Parent value is highlighted. (Now go delete your fake entries, starting with the Period table).
