Nature Objects are entered into the archive by using this form:
On Page 1:
Title - a maximum of 50 characters - Required - this field is initially populated with the Object's name from the Basic Info page. You can leave this information as the Title, or you can edit it to be anything that you think will help to identify the Object.
Description - a maximum of 1,000 characters - more descriptive text
Collector - a maximum of 50 characters - the person who collected the object. The button to the left of the entry box will open up the Names list box, and you can choose a name from that table. The collector name does not have to match any value in the Names table; the look-up is strictly for your convenience.
Approx Collection Date - a maximum of 20 characters - the button to the left of the entry box will open up a calendar look-up, if you want to pick an exact date.
Identified By - a maximum of 50 characters - the person who identified the object. The button to the left of the entry box will open up the Names list box, and you can choose a name from that table. The identified by name does not have to match any value in the Names table; the look-up is strictly for your convenience.
Approx Identification Date - a maximum of 20 characters - the button to the left of the entry box will open up a calendar look-up, if you want to pick an exact date.
Preserved By - a maximum of 50 characters - the person who preserved the object. The button to the left of the entry box will open up the Names list box, and you can choose a name from that table. On Page 2:
For these fields, enter a valid number (a maximum of 2 decimal places, i.e. 5.25):
Height
Length
Width
Depth
Diameter
Circumference
Weight
Unit of Measure - select the U/M by clicking on the appropriate radio button.
Dimension Details - a maximum of 1,000 characters
Quantity - how many of this one Object do you have (normally just one) - enter the quantity.
On Page 3:
Kingdom - a maximum of 30 characters
Phylum / Division - a maximum of 30 characters
Class - a maximum of 30 characters
Order - a maximum of 30 characters
Family - a maximum of 30 characters
Genus - a maximum of 30 characters
Species - a maximum of 30 characters
Taxonomy Notes - a maximum of 1,000 characters
On Page 4:
Specimen Gender - a maximum of 30 characters
Specimen Age - a maximum of 30 characters
Site - a maximum of 50 characters - Site where the object was found
Site Details - a maximum of 1,000 characters
On Page 5:
Eon - a maximum of 30 characters - the button to the left of the entry box will open up the Geologic Age browse box, which will let you select the appropriate eon, era, period, epoch, and age. This is a convenience for you - it is not required. You can also simply type in information for all 5 fields.

Dating Method - a maximum of 50 characters - Method used to date the object
