Map Objects are entered into the archive using this form:

 

 

Title - a maximum of 50 characters - Required - this field is initially populated with the Object's name from the Basic Info page. You can leave this information  as the Title, or you can edit it to be anything that you think will help to identify the Object.

 

Sub-Title  - a maximum of 50 characters

 

Edition  - a maximum of 25 characters - Edition of Map

 

 

Area Region  - a maximum of 50 characters - Area or Region covered by the map

 

 

Map Maker - Person who made the map (if known) - a maximum of 50 characters. The button to the left of the entry box will open up the Names list box, and you  can choose a name from that table. The name does not have to match any value in the Names table; the look-up is strictly for your convenience.      

 

 

Map Maker Details  - a maximum of 1,000 characters. This field will be populated by the Names table if you selected the map maker from that list. You can then edit those details.    

 

Publisher - Map Publisher - a maximum of 50 characters. The button to the left of the entry box will open up the Names list box, and you  can choose a name from that table. The name does not have to match any value in the Names table; the look-up is strictly for your convenience.    

 

Publisher Details   - a maximum of 1,000 characters. This field will be populated by the Names table if you selected the publisher from that list. You can then edit those details.    

 

 

Language  - a maximum of 25 characters - Language used on the map

 

Width - Map's width

 

Height  - Map's height

 

Unit of Measure  - Unit of Measure for dimensions

 

Medium  - a maximum of 50 characters - Medium map is made of (ie, paper)

 

Scale - a maximum of 25 characters  - Scale listed on the map

 

Longitude East  - a maximum of 20 characters  

 

Longitude West - a maximum of 20 characters  

 

Latitude North - a maximum of 20 characters  

 

Latitude South - a maximum of 20 characters  

 

Meridian Used - a maximum of 25 characters

 

Other Details  - a maximum of 2,000 characters - Other information about the map
